Product variant management

With variants you can put together a product in different variants. Each variant has a different stock, price and possibly a photo. For example, you can sell 1 product in multiple color combinations. Also view the short video course at the bottom of this page for a quick overview.

What are variants?

It often happens that you want to sell a product in different shapes and sizes. We call these different types, sizes, colors and/or other variations on a product Variants. When 1 product has different Variants with its own stock, price, VAT or image, the use of variants is ideal. For example, a piece of clothing in a certain color and size, or a TV screen in different sizes. Or a key ring that is packed per 10 or 50 pieces. In short, you want to sell your product in several variants.

Variant groups

When you have created many variants and variant groups, the list can be very long. To quickly find the right variant or variant group, you can enter a keyword at the top which immediately applies as a filter for the variant list.

Add new variant group
If you want to add a new variant group, enter the name of the new group at the top of the screen. Then click on the green icon with the 'plus' sign in it. The group is then immediately added to the list and is also immediately saved.

Modify variant group name
To rename a variant group, click the text of a variant group. An input screen with the current name appears. Change the name and hit enter to save the changes immediately. Each group name may only appear once in the list! The system will automatically check this for you.

You can only delete variant groups if no child variants exist in the respective variant group. You will see a red icon next to the variant group (if it CAN be deleted). When you click on this you will be asked for confirmation. After that, the Variant group will be permanently deleted.

Add variants

You can only create variants child in a variant group. First go to the correct variant group and then click to the right of this variant group in the box where it says 'Add variant'. Enter the name of the variant and click on the green icon. The variant is then added directly to the relevant variant Group. The addition is saved immediately.

Rename a variant
If you want to change the name of an existing variant, click on the name of the relevant variant. A window will appear with the name of the variant that you can change in it. Make your changes and click on confirm to save the change immediately.

Upload photo with a variant
You have the option to add a photo to a variant. You can do this by clicking on the white square block (with the gray cross in it) next to the name of the variant. You will then be given the option to choose a photo from your own computer. When you have chosen this and you confirm this, the photo is added to the variant and appears (in small view) with the variant.

Clear variant
It is only possible to delete this variant if a variant is not currently used for 1 or more products. You can do this by clicking on the red icon behind the name of the variant. You will be asked for confirmation. When you confirm this, the variant will be permanently deleted.
