To make it possible for visitors to your website to sign up for your newsletter, it is important that you create 'groups'. Visitors can then register their e-mail address in these groups. Then, when sending a newsletter, you can indicate to which group(s) you want to send the newsletter.
Possibilities of groups
With the groups you can therefore ensure that you can format and send the newsletter especially for a certain group. For example, it is useful for schools to create a newsletter group for each group (group 1, group 2, etc), containing only the parents of the children in that specific group. In this way, every parent only gets the news that applies to their children.
Also, for example, separating the information for customers and potential customers can sometimes be useful. You can also do this with groups.
Create/manage groups
To create a newsletter group, click from the main menu on 'settings' under 'Newsletters'. There you can then click on 'Groups'. This will take you to the screen where all groups are listed. There you can click on 'add newsletter group' to create a new group. A script window appears in which you can enter the name for the new group. When the group has been added, it will be added to the list.
Behind the newsletter group you will see the number of e-mail addresses in this group in brackets. When you use the app for the first time, it is of course still 0. Behind that you will see a number of different icons. With the arrows you can adjust the sorting of the groups. With the icon after that (the eye) you can make the group invisible for visitors who register via the site. People will then not be able to register in this group. The second icon is the blue edit icon, with which you can edit the group name. The last icon is the red stop sign, with which you can delete the newsletter group. This is only possible if there are no e-mail addresses in this group (i.e. when there is (0) after the group name).
When you have set up the groups, you will of course also want to register for the newsletter.

Free fields
In this screen you can also indicate which free fields you want to use on the login screen of your site. In addition to the standard entry fields (name and e-mail), you can also add additional fields (such as address, zip code and city, for example). Visitors can enter this information when they sign up for the newsletter. In this screen you will see these free fields. You can optionally make these invisible, so that visitors can no longer fill them in. If the free fields (maximum 4) have not been used in your case (it then reads [not used]), you can contact your designer who can set this up for you.
