When your Ziber website goes online, it is of course the intention that a domain name is linked to your website. In the phase that your website was built by the designer, the site still ran on a Ziber 'product domain', for example yourname.sitehand.nl or yourname.webbly.nl, but this is only suitable for the 'construction phase'.
The domain name link is included with every Ziber website (one domain name link for the desktop/tablet website and one domain name link for the mobile website). We advise to link one domain name for the website (the main domain name) and to have any other domain names refer to the main domain name by means of a redirect. This is the best choice for the search engines, because it puts all 'value' on that main domain name.
You can create the domain name link yourself in Ziber Team. Once the domain name is registered with Ziber, this is all you need to do to get the site online.
If you have registered the domain name elsewhere, you must refer the domain name in the DNS to Ziber .
Link domain name in Ziber Team
You can go from the main menu of Ziber Team to the heading 'My [Ziber site]' (in the example below 'My Sitehand'). There you will see 'Domain management' twice, under 'My [Ziber site]' (for the desktop/tablet website) and under 'My mobile [Ziber site]' (for the mobile website).
Domain management - desktop/tablet website
When you click on 'Domain management' under the heading 'My [Ziber site]', you will arrive at the screen where you can create the domain name link for the desktop/tablet website. You can enter the domain name in the input box at the top. Click on the green 'plus' icon to link the domain name. Then don't forget to set the domain name as 'default'. You do this by putting the green check mark behind the entered domain name (you can click on the gray check mark for this).
Note: Always enter the domain name here, including www. before, in.
The product domain name that was already entered there will always remain. You cannot delete this.
Domain management - mobile website
To link the domain name to your mobile website, click from the 'My [Ziber site]' menu on 'domain management' under the subheading 'My mobile [Ziber site]'. This screen works in principle the same as with the desktop/tablet website (see above). The only difference is that you can 'turn off' the eye for the mobile domain name (the eye will then turn gray). This ensures that your mobile website goes 'off' for visitors to your website on a mobile device. These will then simply appear on your desktop/tablet website.
For the mobile website it is common to use the same domain name as for the desktop/tablet website, but with the 'subdomain' m. in front of it (instead of www.). You can, however, enter a completely different domain name, for example a specially intended .mobi domain name.
