Almost all websites use cookies, for example to measure visitor behavior or to remember a visitor's preferences. The cookie legislation in the Netherlands requires every website that attracts visitors from the Netherlands to inform the visitor about which cookies are placed on his or her computer and what they are used for.
What exactly is a cookie?
A cookie is a simple file that is sent along with pages from your website and is stored by a visitor's browser (eg Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome) on this visitor's computer. With this information, certain preferences of the visitor can, for example, be used again during a subsequent visit. The cookie law has been drawn up to protect visitors to websites. Website owners are therefore obliged to report whether they use cookies.
Tip: More information about the cookie law can be found here .
Which cookies does your Ziber site use?
When you use, for example, Google Analytics, or the social media options in the sidebar, your website automatically uses 'third-party' cookies. You are then required by law to report this to your visitors (and in some cases to request permission for this).
Activate cookie notification on your website
You can activate this cookie notification yourself for your website. You do this via Ziber Team, in which you can indicate yourself whether or not you want to display the cookie notification. To do this, go from the main menu to 'My Ziber site ' and click through to 'Cookie notification'. There you can turn on the notification for your website by clicking on the gray circle on the right. You can then adjust the text of the message yourself.
When you activate the cookie notification, every visitor to your website will immediately receive a notification about the use of cookies when opening. By means of a green 'Agree' button, the visitor can indicate that he agrees to the placing of cookies. The message will then no longer appear for this visitor.
