When to send an emergency notification?
It can be useful to send an emergency notification to the parents. This is a (push) notification and email notification that parents cannot turn off and indicates a high urgency. An emergency notification can include:
- we will come back later from school trip
- the four-day evening event has been cancelled due to severe weather
- Due to the nice weather, please make sure the children are well protected with sunscreen
How do I send an emergency notification?
From the Ziber Team ' Dashboard ', go to ' Notifications ' and select ' Emergency notification '.
Give the emergency message a title and description. The emergency message is automatically checked. Select the entire school, groups or students you want to reach. And choose ' Send emergency message '.
The parents/guardians of the selected students will now receive a push notification and email notification.
What do parents think of an emergency notification?
When parents open the app and there is an emergency notification (within the first 24 hours), they immediately receive the notification on screen.
In the parent's notification screen, an emergency notification gets an extra label. When they tap on this notification (or via 'read more') they get the entire notification again - large - in view.
Who viewed the emergency notification?
When you go to "to parents" in Ziber Team notification history and tap on the notification. You can see which parents it was sent to, which parents read the notification and at what time the notification was read by the parent. This way you know that your emergency notification has been received by the parents.
Please note: When you send an emergency notification, it will remain current for 24 hours and parents will see it directly on the screen when opening the app. After 24 hours, the parent can only view the emergency notification in the notification overview.
